History of the BOGS

A Journey of Excellence, Service & Commitment

The Bardhaman Obstetric & Gynaecological Society (BOGS) was established in 2002 with a vision to bring together obstetricians and gynaecologists committed to advancing women’s healthcare and promoting safe motherhood. Since its inception, the Society has grown into a respected professional organization and proudly stands among the founder societies of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI).

Over the years, BOGS has continued to strengthen its presence in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology through academic activities, professional collaboration, continuing medical education, and community-oriented initiatives.

Building a Strong Professional Community

From its early years, BOGS has focused on creating a platform where medical professionals can learn, share knowledge, exchange experiences and collaborate for the advancement of women's healthcare. The Society has supported postgraduate education and has played an important role in teaching and training postgraduate students, junior doctors and healthcare professionals.

With the passage of time, the Society has expanded its membership and activities, bringing together a growing community of obstetricians and gynaecologists who share a common commitment to professional excellence and service to society.

Serving Women, Mothers & Families

A central part of BOGS's journey has been its commitment to maternal and child health, safe motherhood, reproductive health and family welfare. Through scientific programmes, awareness initiatives, training activities and community-focused efforts, the Society has consistently worked towards improving healthcare awareness and outcomes.

Looking Towards the Future

Today, with around 120 members, BOGS continues to build upon the strong foundation established in 2002. While remaining rooted in its core values of professional integrity, academic excellence, collaboration and service, the Society looks forward to embracing new developments in medical science and healthcare.

The journey of BOGS is not merely a history of an organization—it is a continuing story of medical excellence, collective learning and dedicated service towards healthier women, safer motherhood and stronger families.

2002 – Present

More than two decades of commitment to Women’s Health, Medical Education & Safe Motherhood.
